OPEN ODESA: KEEPING TRACK OF CITY DECISIONS

Can you ensure that open data is really open to the public? Actually, it’s doable. Local activists from Odesa created an app to monitor city council decisions and are ready to share their experience with other cities.

“We’ve all been there – digging for information here and there and not finding what we need. We wanted to take accessibility and transparency of information on city council’s decisions to a new level,” says Yevhen Popov, one of the developers of the Open Odessa.

This project – that was one of the participants of #UInn Youth Innovations Challenge – has received a Special Anti-corruption nomination, and was supported under the UNDP project Enhanced Public Sector Transparency and Integrity, funded by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Embassy of Denmark in Ukraine).
