On April 19, 2019, youth workers, civic activists and city authorities gathered in Youth Capital of Ukraine 2018, Kamyanets-Podilskyi, to discuss how to create favourable legislative environment for youth participation in Ukraine, and to exchange best youth work practices.
“Youth work is essential, because it supports young people to grow as conscious and responsible citizens who will take lead in making positive changes in their communities. Young people’s empowerment, development and engagement is an end in itself, as well as means to build a better world according to the UN Youth Strategy 'Youth 2030'," stresses Liliya Shkyra from Kamyanets-Podilskyi city council.
More than 2,000 youth workers across Ukraine received necessary skills and knowledge on how to engage young people into civic life and policy-making within the Youth Worker Programme, led by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine with UNDP support.
