Best Practices of Youth Work and the Second All-Ukrainian Youth Workers’ Forum

On 5-7 November 2018, the Second All-Ukrainian Forum of Youth Workers and the awarding ceremony for the winners of 2018 Contest of the Best Practices of Youth Work took place in Dnipro city.

Why are the Sustainable Development Goals integral to youth initiatives in Ukraine? How does decentralization affect youth work? What are the winning youth work practices in this year’s contest?

A total of 170 participants of the Second All-Ukrainian Youth Workers’ Forum in Dnipro not only found the answers to these and other questions but also discussed all the major ups and downs faced along the way while working with young people.

“More than 11 million youngsters live in Ukraine. For UNDP Ukraine, it is crucial to contribute towards harnessing a professional youth workers’ community that empowers young men and women to become agents of change within their communities,” said Marcus Brand.

173 practices were submitted to the Contest of the Best Practices of Youth Work from almost every oblast of Ukraine in 2018.

62 success stories were selected for the catalogue (https://bit.ly/2qCOWMR).

8 out of 10 of the winning practices are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

“At the forum we got an opportunity to discuss the best ways to analyze youth policy and determine indicators for boosting the effectiveness of youth workers,” said Vira Usyk, the Vice-President of Young Agents of Change.
