Successful practices of the civil society - authorities cooperation within the OGP Ukraine were presented at the Forum

The CSOs hubs presented successful practices of the civil society - authorities cooperation at local level within the Open Government Partnership at the Second Regional OGP Forum, which took place on September 21, 2018 in Kyiv.

"Each year, the state allocates huge sums of money to procure medicines. Hundreds of drugs, purchased by the state, are stored in medical facilities. Unfortunately, patients are often unaware of the availability of free medicines in their hospitals. Thanks to the "Available Drugs" project, developed by the Institute of Analysis and Advocacy, everyone can check which medicines are available in her or his hospital."

"Another example of successful cooperation with the authorities is the information Portal of Poltava Region "Build Prozoro": / zabudova.pl.ua / There we have collected all the constructed objects, which are being built with the local budget funding. That would ultimately help reduce corruption risks and strengthen public control over the use of public funds," tells Iryna Domnenko, Institute of Analysis and Advocacy, which joined the CSOs hubs network.

Today, the CSOs hubs presented successful practices for cooperation between the civil society and the authorities at local level. "Source of Hope", "Modern Format", "MART" and "Territory of Success" shared their success stories at the Second Regional OGP Forum.

Effective, responsible and transparent state institutions, inclusive participation in policy- and decision-making, and the elimination of corruption are indispensable conditions for the sustainable development. And Ukraine has many successful examples in these areas", said Markus Brand, Head of Democratic Governance Program Team of the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine.
