3 500 killed and 7 000 wounded civilians. 40 000 damaged infrastructure objects.
130 closed hospitals. 146 illegal detention places. Over 1600 registered victims of the mines’ explosions.
Such are realities of the armed conflict in Donbas for 2014-18, presented by Yevhen Zakharov from Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group (KHPG).
“There is no state registry of the conflict-affected civilians, and no state system of the compensation for the loss of property, death of relatives or injuries. Ukrainian Government must take appropriate measures in this regard”, calls for Yevhen Zakharov.
Jointly with NGO “Myrnyi Bereh”, Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group conducted in-depth research on the human rights violations during the conflict in eastern Ukraine in 2014-2018 to address the issues to the International Criminal Court.
