Tetyana Durnyeva, Head of “THE GROUP OF INFLUENCE” Public Holding, who is originally from Donetsk, calls for Ukrainian Government to de-link payment of pensions and social benefits from internally displaced persons’ registration, to allow IDPs receiving social payments or pensions in any bank, to cancel the verification of IDPs’ permanent residence, and to adopt Draft Law No. 6692 to provide a mechanism for payment of pensions to people from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
1,5 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) were registered by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine as of July 2018. About 4.5 million people continue to reside on the temporarily occupied territories.
2018 Human Dimension Implementation Meeting gathers 1,500 representatives of governments and civil society from the OSCE’s participating States and partner States. For two weeks they take stock of how states are implementing their commitments in the human dimension, in other words, how states promote respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
