“Young people should be involved in the processes of policy-making as equal partner” - Anna Ostrikova

"The Youth Council is one of the tools for youth participation that allows learning how to make decisions and take responsibility for the sustainable development of their local communities. That's very important for today when the amalgamated communities elaborate on their own strategies and agenda on their own. Young people should be involved in these processes as equal partners", - shared Anna Ostrikova, Youth Worker Program Coordinator at the Youth Capital Forum 2018.

The First All-Ukrainian Forum "Youth Capital of Ukraine" has become a platform for young people, representatives of state bodies from different regions of Ukraine to share experience. It was held on September 6-7 in Lviv with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine, Lviv City Council, UNDP Ukraine, and other donors.

"Young people are often faced with discrimination on the basis of age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnic origin, and political views", stressed Lubov Halan, project manager from the Center for Civil Liberties, while presenting selected data from UNDP study "What Young People Know and Think about Human Rights", conducted in 2016 and in 2018.

At the same time, 73.3% of the interviewed youth admitted that they did not even try to protect their rights when facing a violation.
