On July 5, 2018 in Kyiv, key government stakeholders, international partners and civic activists discussed major achievements and shortcomings in reforming public sector, and exchanged ideas how to overcome the existing challenges at the PGA 2018 annual conference.
“What should be the key priorities for Ukrainian Government prior the elections? Electoral reform, setting up high standards and advancing public administration reform, as well as introducing corporate governance at the state-owned enterprises”, says Oleksandr Saienko, Minister of CMU at the PGA 2018 annual conference.
“UNDP supports the public administration reform, which goes in line with global best practices. The professionalization of the civil service, strengthening culture of performance and accountability, opening of the government policy-making process to consultation with national stakeholders, integration of e-government strategies - are all critical steps that Ukraine has to undertake. And UNDP will support Ukrainian Government on this challenging road”, - stressed Marcus Brand.
Launched in 2014, the Professional Government Association (PGA) brings together over 25 Ukraine-based alumni associations with over 3,000 western-educated Ukrainians. It serves as the civil society platform for making Ukrainian government the efficient, transparent and accountable.
