The “Living Resolution” at the Kherson Forum on cooperation between the state authorities and civil society

On June 6, 2018, more than 150 Kherson-based civic activists, representatives of local authorities, entrepreneurs and experts from the international and all-Ukrainian organizations discussed how to better establish cooperation between civil society and the authorities at the Forum “Authorities and Communities: Legal Methods of Mutual Influence”.

“How could the civil society organizations build trustful relations with the authorities and citizens? An essential thing is to engage youth in civic initiatives, introduce them to the modern innovative technologies to benefit local communities”, says Olena Ursu, Coordinator of the UNDP Project “Civil Society for Enhanced Democracy and Human Rights”.

The “Living Resolution” on the wall has become the result of vivid discussions at the Forum. It is currently being finalized by a working group, consisting from the heads of 10 NGOs. When finalized, the “living resolution” on how to improve transparency in public sector, involving residents in the budget participation and the introduction of e-democracy will be presented to the city mayor.

The Forum was organized by the CSO-hub “Zakhyst” Foundation of the Community of Kherson City, which belongs to the CSO-hubs network.
