On May 25, 2018 in Kyiv, 35 representatives from government, local authorities and civil society discussed how to improve implementation of the National Strategy at local level. The seminar was organized by the Association for the Promotion of Self-Organization of the Population with the support of Danish MFA.
“The successful implementation of the National Strategy for Civil Society Development for 2016-2020 depends mostly on local authorities. Establishing a partnership between local executive authorities, self-government bodies and civil society organizations is an important condition for both Strategy’s implementation, and resolving local issues," says Natalia Oksha, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communication of the Secretariat of Cabinet of Ministers.
On that day, 35 representatives from government, local authorities and civil society discussed how to improve the Strategy’s implementation at local level.
105 civil society organizations joined the coalition to monitor the Strategy’s implementation. 387 civic activists and 280 representatives from local authorities throughout Ukraine are engaged in the activities of Coordination Councils to support the civil society’s development. 25 regional programs are financed through the local budgets.
Such are preliminary results of the research, conducted by the Association for the Promotion of Self-Organization of the Population with the UNDP support.
