29 May 2015, Vinnytsia - Vinnytsia City Council and Podil Agency for Regional Development hosted the final conference "Transparent City: Possibilities and Challenges for Ukrainian Municipalities" where representatives of Ukrainian municipalities, NGOs, and international institutions discussed the implementation of transparency standards in government at local and national level.
29 April 2015, Lviv – "So, you mean all data? All in this graph?" – Lviv journalists did not believe their eyes, whilst going through the budget visualization tool presented in the municipality. Today, city budget data in Lviv was morphed into interactive infographics: a fruit of work done by the Lviv municipality and UNDP through the Open Budget tool designed to make understanding of a complex city budget data easier by the common citizenry.
City budgets have been known as some of the most cumbersome local level policy documents to read and interpret. Thanks to the software stemming from the Open Budget project (supported by UNDP and Internews Network) local journalists, civic activists, and just curious citizens have better ways of accessing financial information through interactive infographics. They also may find out what is going on in the financial year at this point of time or is in the immediate plans.
