The new e-asset declaration system was presented to the communities in Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Kramatorsk, Ternopil, Lviv, Dnipro, Zaporizhia, and Rivne.
Ivan Presniakov, Head of UNDP's Enhanced Public Sector Transparency and Integrity Project, emphasised: "In each city, we presented the system and new legislation to three target groups: public officials, civic activists, and journalists."
The tour started with a press conference, held at an Oblast State Administration, which then followed by a presentation given to over a hundred of public officials such as judges, prosecutors, public servants. These press conferences and presentations were held by representatives of Oblast State Administrations, NACP, and UNDP. Participating officials had an opportunity to participate in a Q&A session. Concurrently, anti-corruption posters were exhibited at Oblast State Administrations.
Each city hosted a meeting with activists, led by a representative of Transparency International Ukraine, a leading anti-corruption organisation. Additionally, UNDP and NACP representatives had several interviews on local TV channels.
"Media coverage of these events demonstrates that our society is truly interested in the e-asset declaration system. According to our estimations, as a result of this tour, there were 19 TV programmes featuring interviews with our experts, 35 TV reports, and numerous materials in other media," said
Ivan.
In each city, event attendees were given special print materials, i.e. a brochure "10 steps of a declarant" describing how fil in the declaration and a leaflet for journalists "New e-asset declarations in a nutshell", which were developed under the framework of UNDP's Enhanced Public Sector Transparency and Integrity Project.
The system is planned to be soon presented in the remaining 13 oblasts of Ukraine within the scope of this information campaign.
